"The Overall Mission of the Gulf Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America, is to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential." The Gulf Ridge Council serves the youth of Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, and Sumter counties and supports more than 22,000 young people in more than 550 units. The Council operates three camps for outdoor activities in Odessa, Inverness and Lake Wales.
